NWA130BE with Firmware 7.20(2) hidden SSID doesn't work

Hi @toms01 ,
The configuration of hidden SSID appears correct, but there's a compatibility issue preventing the access point from broadcasting the hidden network. Hidden SSID functionality is incompatible with WiFi 7 (802.11be) mode and Multi-Link Operation (MLO).
When your access point operates in WiFi 7 (802.11be) mode, the hidden SSID feature is not supported due to MLO requirements.
If you want to know more detailed information about this MLO limitation, see: Heads-Up: Latest WiFi 7 enforces new MLO change, Zyxel implement in 7.20!
Hence, to enable hidden SSID broadcasting, both radio profiles must be configured for 802.11ax (WiFi 6) instead of 802.11be (WiFi 7).
Please follow the steps to verify your AP’s radio mode and change the radio mode if needed.
First, navigate to Configuration > Wireless > AP Management > WLAN and click on each radio profile (Radio 1 and Radio 2).
Second, verify the wireless mode:
- If set to 11ax → No changes needed
- If set to 11be → Change to 802.11ax mode
At last, apply the configuration changes and then your NWA130BE is supposed to broadcast the hidden SSID.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks!
Best Regard,
Lynn
