I want to set this up to use only 5GHz on radio 1 and 6GHz on radio 2. I have been advised that this is possible. I have disabled(unchecked) the 2.4 GHz band. Leaving 5Ghz and 6Ghz selected on both radios and setting radio 2 to 6Ghz. If I then look at the dashboard (standalone), the 2.4Ghz is still visible on radio 1, and the 6Ghz appears on radio 2. Checking on a wifi analyser, it appears that the 2.4Ghz is disabled, and the 5Ghz band and 6Ghz band are both working. How can I configure radio 1, which is now 5ghz to a specific channel? Am I missing something here. It does seem to work, but I cannot configure radio 1. The profile is wiz radio 24G, and the only configuration options are for the 2.4Ghz band, despite being disabled. Any help appreciated.

    Hi @MikeP25,

    Thank you for reaching out!

The NWA50BE Pro is a dual-radio BandFlex AP with the following configuration:

    • Radio 1: Dedicated to 2.4 GHz only (cannot be changed to 5 GHz or 6 GHz)
    • Radio 2: Flexible - can be manually set to either 5 GHz or 6 GHz

Regarding your setup, we are unfortunate to tell you that it is not possible to configure Radio 1 to use 5 GHz as you were advised. Radio 1 is hardware-locked to the 2.4 GHz band only. This is why:

    1. The dashboard continues to show 2.4 GHz for Radio 1 even when disabled - this is the correct behavior since Radio 1 cannot operate on any other band
    2. The radio profile shows "wiz radio 24G" with only 2.4 GHz options - this is expected because Radio 1 is a 2.4 GHz-only radio
    3. You cannot access 5 GHz channel configuration for Radio 1 - because Radio 1 does not support 5 GHz

    What you're actually seeing:

When you disable 2.4 GHz and see both 5 GHz and 6 GHz working in your WiFi analyzer, you're likely seeing:

    • Radio 1: Disabled/inactive (since 2.4 GHz is unchecked)
    • Radio 2: Operating on 6 GHz (as configured)

The 5 GHz signal you're detecting may be from another nearby access point or device, not from this NWA50BE Pro.

    Your available options are:

    • Radio 1: 2.4 GHz (or disabled)
    • Radio 2: 5 GHz OR 6 GHz (choose one)

Please let me know if you need further clarification!

    Best Regards,

    Lynn
