Overview

The Chase Films, a fast-paced, full-service production company, was struggling with unreliable WiFi, slow data transfers, and limited network visibility, disrupting everything from creative collaboration to on-set operations. To meet the demands of modern production, they needed a smarter, faster network. That's where Zyxel Networks stepped in with a transformative technology solution.

Challenges

Fast, reliable connectivity is critical across every stage of film production, from collaborating on large files to livestreaming voiceover (VO) sessions and remote approvals.
The Chase Films faced unstable WiFi, slow uploads, and poor coverage, including in the boardroom. Even 10G Cat 6A connections dropped out, disrupting edits, breaking links to server-based assets, and delaying the creative flow. Client presentations were also at risk, with connection issues threatening to undermine weeks of preparation by glitching at critical moments.

Solutions

To resolve the connectivity issues and support their demanding workflow, Zyxel Networks deployed a tailored networking solution. Three WiFi 7 access points with smart antennas were installed to provide ultra-fast, stable wireless coverage across the entire workspace, including the boardroom and on-set environments.
A 10G switch was implemented to handle large data transfers without bottlenecks, ensuring smooth collaboration on high-resolution files, VO sessions, and real-time feedback. A 1G switch supported less bandwidth-intensive tasks, optimizing resource allocation.
All devices are centrally managed through Zyxel Networks' Nebula cloud platform, giving the team full visibility and control of the network from anywhere with an internet connection, no hassle, no dropouts.

Results

With Zyxel Networks' upgraded network in place, the team now enjoys fast, seamless connectivity across every part of the production process.
WiFi 7 access points eliminated dead zones and signal drops, even on set, while the multi-gig switch enabled quick, uninterrupted file transfers, no more network slowdowns during large uploads.
The Nebula platform provides easy, remote management and visibility, saving time and reducing IT headaches.
Overall, the improved speed, stability, and control have allowed the team to focus on creativity and collaboration, rather than connectivity, keeping projects moving smoothly from brief to final cut.
