To meet the growing demands of large-scale network environments, Zyxel has expanded several key VPN-related parameters in its latest firmware release. This enhancement provides more flexibility for enterprise deployments, particularly for customers using high-end models like the USG FLEX 500H and USG FLEX 700H.

What’s New in VPN Parameter Expansion?

  • Increased the maximum number of VPN Phase 2 policy rules from 10 to 50 for USG FLEX 500H and 700H
  • Increased the maximum number of static route from 500 to 1000 for USG FLEX 700H
  • Increased the maximum number of address object from 1000 to 1500 for USG FLEX 700H

System Warnings for Limits

If the system reaches any of these limits:

  • A warning message will appear in the web GUI
  • On Nebula, the same alert is shown to help prevent configuration failures

Examples:

“You have reached the maximum number of phase 2 VPN routes.”“Static route limit exceeded.”

These safeguards ensure administrators are informed before hitting hardware or firmware limitations.
