new NWA50be AP emits no wifi signal

I received a new NWA50be last week and can't get it to work properly, as it doesn't emit a Wifi signal and stays with the LED blinking.

Here is what I did:

  • Unpack (:
  • Hook it up to a power delivering managed switch from unify (currently, the only other device connected to this switch is an NWA50ax)
  • call it via the IP it received from the switch
  • create a new admin PW etc
  • run through the wizard, creating a wifi profile, security profile, and assigning it to a radio (except for the (test) SSID, they are all the same as for the (working) AX
  • everything looks nice except for the blinking LED, no SSID to be seen, and no "stations" in the Monitor > station info section

So it seems to be powerd, internet connected but something prevents it from producing the signal. Any idea where I could look? Or is it just broken (I guess not because the LED blinking pattern confirms that there is no signal)?

    Hi @hyxels

What pattern of the LED blinking is it? You can check the below table to check the related status.

Also, could you help to check the PoE mode on your management switch? NWA50BE requires 802.3at mode, please help to check if the switch set 802.3at mode on the connecting port.

If the issue remains, please help to collect the diagnostic file.

    Hi @Zyxel_Melen

    thanks for your quick reply.

The device was "slowly blinking green on/off for 1 second".

We figured it out ourselves via the log file that there wasn't enough power (no PoE/at). So you were right with your 2nd suggestion!

I would like to suggest that such important information (that the device can also detect and describe, as in the log file) gets displayed in the user interface as well.

    Thanks again!

    Hi @hyxels

    Thanks for your update!

About the display suggestion, you can see the power mode in the dashboard.

If the device is not using 802.3AT or power cable, it will show limited.
