Overview

The sanatorium's management set out to enhance service quality and guest convenience by building a dedicated WiFi network. Before the project, internet access was limited to administrative areas, while public spaces like halls, guest rooms, and the treatment area had no connectivity. With the deployment of Zyxel Networks' wireless solution, the facility now enjoys seamless coverage that supports both comfort and care. The entire installation was completed quickly and efficiently by just one technician.

Challenges

The project faced several significant challenges from the start. According to Doszhan Kenetayevich Kulchumanov, president of the Ak-Kayyn Sanatorium, the main objectives were to install a new optical internet line and provide wireless internet coverage throughout all public areas inside the building.

The sanatorium in Ak-Kayin is housed in an old, uniquely constructed building dating back to the mid-1970s. One of the biggest difficulties was the complex and non-standard structure of the building. Thick reinforced concrete walls, built almost like a bomb shelter, severely complicated the installation process. These walls obstructed wireless signals and made network deployment a tough task.

Solutions

IP Azylhan A.A., a Zyxel Networks partner in the region, carried out the project. Azamat Azilkhan Adilbekuly, the project manager, reviewed proposals from two vendors before ultimately selecting Zyxel Networks, based on both their own experience and trusted recommendations from industry peers.

To ensure full wireless coverage throughout the sanatorium, twenty-one Zyxel NWA50AX access points were deployed. These devices are designed for small to medium-sized environments and support WiFi 6 technology, delivering fast speeds in crowded areas while optimizing bandwidth efficiency.

The most time-consuming part of the project was installing the structured cabling system, which took about a month. Once completed, the access points were installed simultaneously. Azamat added, "We managed the setup in only one hour. Zyxel Networks' setup process is easy and reliable." Remarkably, the entire setup of the NWA50AX devices was finished by only a single technician.

Despite using relatively few devices, the project became especially memorable for the team due to these challenging conditions. As project manager Azamat reflected, they faced tough obstacles along the way and learned a lot from the experience.

Results

Zyxel Networks' wireless solution provided comprehensive coverage throughout the sanatorium, including guest rooms, halls, and treatment areas. Guests, especially elderly patients, no longer report connectivity issues, greatly enhancing their experience. The installation process was quick and efficient, taking about one hour and and saving 90% of setup time. The project delivered seamless connectivity with minimal effort. The integrator also praised the fast delivery of Zyxel equipment, noting it arrived sooner than expected and was ready for deployment without delay.
