Q:
How to Block Unauthorized MAC Addresses on the Ports
A:
If you need to block unauthorized MAC addresses on the port (Port 24) of switch, you can achieve this by using Port Security features. Follow these steps:
- Go to the switch's GUI, navigate to SECURITY > Port Security > Port Security.
- Enable MAC Freeze. This will automatically convert all currently learned MAC addresses into static entries.
- Alternatively, you can manually configure Static MAC Forwarding for the authorized MAC addresses.
- Under Port Security, set the port to Active and disable Address Learning. This will ensure the port does not dynamically learn new MAC addresses.
This configuration ensures that only the predefined static MAC addresses can be forwarded through Port. Any dynamic or unauthorized MAC addresses will be blocked and cannot access the server through the uplink.
