[SOLVED] VLAN passthrough problem
Freshman Member
Hello everyone,
I'm having trouble with my GS1920. I've connected it to my firewall (which also handles DHCP) on port 28. I've configured the VLANs on both the firewall and the GS1920. However, when I set port 28 as PVID on VLAN 21 (managed by my firewall) and as trunk, with a fixed no-tagging for port 28 on VLAN 21 and a fixed tagging for the same port on VLAN 1, have I misconfigured something? The switch isn't getting an IP address on VLAN 21; I have to connect to it via a different port on VLAN 1.
Thanks in advance for your help 🙏🏻

Hi @geoffroych
I assume you have VLAN 28 interface on your firewall.
Please note that the firewall VLAN interface only receive the packets with matched VLAN ID. Therefore, please try to change the VLAN 1 to untagged/no-tagging and VLAN 28 tagged. The PVID normally follows the untagged VLAN ID.
Hope it helps.

Hi Zyxel,
Thank you so much for your help! Indeed, by setting VLAN 1 to untagged and then VLAN 28 to tagged, it worked with the management PVID set to 28.
Thank you very much!0
