Memory Usage Enhancement

Zyxel has refined how memory usage alerts are triggered in firmware version 1.37. Previously, the system alert for memory usage exceeding 90% for 10 minutes was difficult to trigger because it included Fastpath reserved memory in the total calculation.

System Memory vs. Fastpath

Fastpath memory usually remains very free, which diluted the overall percentage even when the system or management memory was near capacity (e.g., at 99%). This could lead to performance issues without triggering a notification.

Improved Alert Logic

• Excluded Fastpath: The alert now only accounts for memory outside of the Fastpath region. The calculation is now: System Total minus System Available, excluding the Fastpath portion.
  
  
• Dashboard Visualization: The management dashboard now displays a split graph showing separate metrics for System and Fastpath memory usage.
  
  
• Memory Usage Display Updates: The memory usage shown on all relevant pages will be updated consistent with the new calculation method.
