MAC Filtering with Wildcard Support
Client policies now support MAC address wildcards, allowing administrators to create broad rules for groups of devices based on their Organization Unique Identifier (OUI).
Implementing Wildcard Masks
Using a mask where "F" represents a matching value and "0" allows any value, administrators can group devices like specific printer brands or laptop models under a single policy. For example, a mask of FFFFFF000000 can be used to apply a rule to all devices from a single manufacturer.
Conflict and Policy Logic
When overlapping policies exist, the SSID Mac Filter Action (Allow or Block) dictates the outcome. If the SSID is set to "Block," the firewall will ignore any "Allow" policies for matching clients, prioritizing the block list.
