Proactive Network Health: Port Advisor Enhancements

The Port Advisor tool in Nebula 20.00 has been enhanced to provide more reliable monitoring of wired network health by shifting its diagnostic logic from instantaneous traffic spikes to average rate calculations.

Smarter Anomaly Detection

The system now utilizes the average rate over a 5-minute polling interval to identify anomalies in bandwidth utilization and storm guard events. This change prevents brief, non-critical traffic spikes from triggering false alarms, allowing administrators to focus on sustained network issues.

Cable Health and Summary Reporting

Cable health monitoring has also been refined, with abnormal events now defined by specific thresholds: 25 CRC errors within 5 minutes, or port status changes exceeding 15 times in 5 minutes (or 5 times in 1 minute).

Data for these reports is aggregated from event logs and poll counters to provide a comprehensive overview of the wired infrastructure.
