Overview

Grieghallen, one of Norway’s premier cultural venues, needed a network capable of supporting high-density events, critical operations and evolving digital requirements. Nordlo Bergen installed and configured Zyxel Networks WiFi 7 access points and multi-gig switches to deliver a futureproof, high-performance network combining speed, security and simplified cloud-based management for both staff and audiences.

Challenges

Grieghallen’s existing network struggled with limited coverage, inconsistent bandwidth and operational interruptions – issues that impacted both staff workflows and audience experiences. With high-density events, evolving technology requirements and increasing cybersecurity demands, the venue needed a solution that could provide fast, reliable connectivity, robust security and simplified management for both present needs and future growth.

Solutions

To meet these demands, Nordlo Bergen supplied WBE660S WiFi 7 access points and XMG1930 multi-gig PoE switches. The access points delivered high-speed, stable connectivity, even in high-density, dynamically changing environments, using features such as SSID Tagging and Storm Control for efficient traffic management. Multi-gig switches ensured robust connectivity for access points, servers and workstations, with VLAN management, IGMP snooping and topology views enhancing operational control and network segmentation.

The Nebula cloud platform provided centralized management, giving Grieghallen and Nordlo Bergen real-time visibility, network diagnostics and AI-powered tools like WiFi Aid and Wireless Health. Extended logging and topology mapping make troubleshooting and performance optimization faster and simpler in a complex, ever-changing environment.

Results

Grieghallen now benefits from high-speed, futureproof connectivity powered by WiFi 7, delivering the required performance for today’s operations and tomorrow’s needs. The deployment of 71 access points and 32 multi-gig switches created a reliable and resilient network, providing seamless coverage and reliable performance, even during large events.

Cybersecurity protection and network management have also been significantly enhanced. Segmented networks for guests, operations, staff, and critical systems help safeguard sensitive data. Cloud-based monitoring has reduced troubleshooting time by 50% and simplified ongoing network maintenance.
