Is it possible to create a daily password for accessing Wi-Fi?
Zyxel Employee
Yes. Zyxel Nebula access points can support daily or temporary Wi-Fi access by using guest authentication features such as captive portal authentication, voucher, or DPPSK.
For guest Wi-Fi, the recommended approach is usually to create a dedicated guest SSID and control access through Nebula’s captive portal or voucher system. Administrators can issue a password, voucher, or guest credential with a limited validity period, such as one day. When the credential expires, the guest must use a new password or voucher to access the network again.
Dynamic Personal Pre-Shared Key can also be used to achieve a similar goal. With DPPSK, administrators can create unique Wi-Fi passwords for different users, groups, or guests while keeping them on the same SSID. A daily access password can be created by issuing a DPPSK credential that is valid only for the required access period. After the validity period ends, the old key can be removed or replaced with a new one for the next day.
This method is especially useful for hotels, offices, schools, cafés, and other environments where guests need short-term Wi-Fi access. It also avoids the inconvenience of frequently changing the shared password for all users.
In summary, a daily Wi-Fi access password is possible on Zyxel Nebula APs. It can be implemented through guest captive portal, voucher access, or DPPSK, depending on whether the goal is simple guest access, large-scale temporary access, or user-specific password control.
