USG FLEX 50H , block devices in Device insight is not working

For a long while now , the function to block devices in the Device insight list is not working . Or it may work 1 in 1000 tries. What can be done ? firmware on it v1.37 .

May I know the behavior that block devices not working? Do you mean you can't block it or the device can still access the Internet? Please help to share more details with us, so we can clarify this issue.

Hi , we are trying to use Device Insight to block non allowed devices . We want to create a block list of devices that will remain permanent and those devices should not be able to connect and get a dhcp ip . It was something that worked in the past. But then some y back started failing . As the USG we had was old. We upgraded to new a USG FLEX 50H , but it has not worked at all with the new one. When you check a device and choose add to block list . Then refresh , device appears still connected and block list empty.

Please note that Device Insight block client is based on MAC entry. If your device is dynamic MAC address, like smart phone will change MAC address when connect to different SSID, the Device Insight block function will not support this scenario. In the other words, it can block fixed MAC address devices.

Additionally, I checked the release note that there's no fixed issue on V1.37 or V1.38. I also tested on V1.38 and there's no issue. Therefore, I assume this is due to the function behavior/limitation.
