Official Firmware Upgrade Policy

To ensure reliability, especially for customers using specialized firmware builds, Zyxel has refined its firmware upgrade policies across cloud and local management platforms.

Firmware Categories and Upgrade Rules

• Official and Beta Versions: Standard official releases (e.g., C0) and Beta versions are fully supported for cloud auto-upgrades and local updates.
• Date(Debug) Firmware: Specialized builds created to fix specific customer issues (often identified by a ticket number) are strictly excluded from auto-upgrades. This prevents the system from accidentally overwriting a critical bug fix with a standard release.
• Weekly Firmware: Starting from version 1.39, weekly firmware builds are now permitted to perform cloud firmware upgrades, addressing previous customer requests for easier maintenance of these versions.

These policies apply to both the local Web GUI auto-update feature and Nebula cloud-managed schedules.
