1 POE channel shuts off after every startup - turn flow control ON or OFF?
Hi guys, I have the: ZYXEL XMG-105
camera 1 —- to —- channel 1
camera 2 —- to —- channel 2
motherboard (jetson) —— to channel 3 (for cam data transmitting)
Problem:
One channel with the camera keeps shutting off a few minutes after startup. So only 1 camera of the 2 works.
I have 4 of these running and they are all resulting in the same scenario.
Question:
Am I to have turn off the flow control?
Is the flow control (dafault = on) the issue?
TIA!

Hi @oimike ,
Since you mentioned the XMG-105 with PoE, we assume your model is the XMG-105HP.
Flow Control is designed to manage data transmission rates and prevent buffer overflows/packet loss — it does not govern or affect physical PoE power delivery. Disabling Flow Control is highly unlikely to resolve a PoE port shutdown.
Based on your setup, you have 2 cameras (channels 1–2) and a Jetson motherboard (channel 3) drawing PoE simultaneously. While the XMG-105HP has a total PoE power budget of 70W, if the combined power draw across your connected devices approaches or exceeds the total 70W budget, the switch will automatically shut down a port to protect its power supply. Please check the power specifications of your end devices.
