Hello,

I have fiber WAN with 100/100Mbps (Download/Upload). Always gives more than that typically 110/120Mbps. When I activate BWM in 50H, upload drops to max 80Mbps. No specific impact on download. And this happens even if there is only the Default rule in BWM, no other rules added.

I have tested this with the ISP own speed test, with Speedtest.net and some other tests as well.

Why such a significant drop with BWM upload? Firmware is 1.39

Some more information about this topic. It seems to be so that with 50H there are three issues

    1. Upload traffic is always limited to the value given by a rule, which has Incoming interface LAN1 and Outgoing WAN1. Destination can be what ever, BWM does not read the destination right. Just put there e.g an Object, which is having a Geolocation country as destination and BWM sets the limit, even if the rule is not hit. E.g Destination can be even geolocation NorthKorea :D Nothing comes to the log file, but the upload traffic is still limited by BWM to the Upload limit set
    2. Activating and disabling the rule does not work. Even if you disable the rule, Upload traffic is still limited to a rule Upload limit. Only deleting the rule completely removes the limit
    3. Setting the upload limit is a hard limit. BWM is not using the capacity on top of the Upload limit, even if there is capacity available

Do you have the issue as well, with 50H or other H- models?

    Hi @kelmi,

    Thank you for your update!

Regarding this issue, we have confirmed that it is caused by a bug in the way Bandwidth Management handles/affects traffic on USG FLEX H series firewalls. A fix will be included in a future firmware release.

Please stay tuned to our News & Release section for the firmware release containing the bug fix. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
