NWA50BE PRO not eligible for OpenWrt Waiver Registration – "Model not allowed"

MaBa24

Hi,

I have a NWA50BE PRO and would like to register it for the OpenWrt-based customized software program via warranty-waiver.zyxel.com.

After entering the serial number, the "Model Name" field is auto-filled (and locked/greyed out) with "NWA50BE PRO", and the form immediately shows a red "Model not allowed" banner – before I even get to enter the password.

Looking at the official supported models list (https://community.zyxel.com/en/discussion/32423), I can see "NWA50BE" listed, but not the "PRO" variant specifically:

NWA130BE, NWA50BE, NWA55BE, NWA240BE, NWA210BE, NWA30BE (all V7.30), plus NWA55AX PRO and NWA55AX PTP (V7.10).

Could someone confirm:

1. Is the NWA50BE PRO intentionally excluded from this program (e.g. due to the different Qualcomm BE6500 chipset / 6 GHz radio compared to the base NWA50BE), or is this a temporary gap in the eligible-models list?
2. Are there any plans to add the NWA50BE PRO to the OpenWrt Waiver program, and if so, roughly when?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Device: NWA50BE PRO (NWA50BEPRO-EU0102F)
Firmware: 7.40

Hi @MaBa24

The models currently listed in the OpenWrt Waiver program are specifically selected and validated by our development team based on product positioning and technical feasibility. The NWA50BE PRO is currently not part of this program. We do not disclose internal hardware evaluation details or architectural comparisons between models.

At this time, there is no official schedule or roadmap to include the NWA50BE PRO in the OpenWrt Waiver program. Any future additions to the eligible device list will be announced directly through our official release notes and community channels.

We appreciate your understanding.
