  • Frequency Band: Set to 2.4 GHz only.
  • Band Mode / Channel Width: Set to 20 MHz (never use 40 MHz on 2.4 GHz as it increases interference).
  • Security Mode: Set to WPA2-Personal (WPA2-PSK) or Open. Many legacy IoT devices cannot negotiate modern WPA3-only or WPA3-Transition handshakes. \
  • 802.11k/v/r (Assisted Roaming): Disable this feature. Legacy IoT devices do not understand roaming standards and will drop connections when receiving roaming frames.
  • Enable U-APSD: is a technology designed to save battery power on wireless clients. It allows a device to put its Wi-Fi radio into a low-power sleep state and "wake up" only periodically to retrieve buffered data from the Access Point.
