SSID Profiles on Flex H
Freshman Member
The flex series of firewalls supported an object which defined the properties of the SSID and SSID Security settings, including Band, Mode, DCS Awareness, Mode, VLAN ID, and roaming features. (Object → AP profile → SSID Profile). Once defined these profiles were associated to AP groups. Modifying a SSID profile would globally affect all AP groups where the SSID was associated.
In the Flex H series, this has changed to: Wireless -> WLAN Settings -> Select AP Group -> Advanced Mode -> SSID Settings.
To define a SSID let’s say ‘Staff’ on the Flex H, the 'Staff' SSID must be defined within each AP Group, therefore repeating the SSID name, security settings, VLAN ID, password, isolation, roaming, MAC filters, etc. This ‘simplification’ of the AP controller on the H series has not made AP management easier. it has changed it from the number of defined SSIDs to: Potential Items to Manage = (defined SSIDs x AP groups).
Please bring back the SSID / Security object.
