Why did my VLAN configuration disappear from switch ports after changing port profiles?

When managing switches in Nebula, you might occasionally encounter routing or connectivity issues on specific VLANs (such as VLAN 2) and find that the VLAN configuration has disappeared from certain switch ports. This typically occurs due to unintended configuration changes in the Nebula Control Center (NCC), specifically related to port profiles.

To identify and resolve this issue, we recommend following these troubleshooting steps to verify the configuration history and restore the proper settings:

1. Check the Organization Change Log:
   • Navigate to Organization-wide > License & inventory > Change log to review administrative actions.
   • Look for recent configuration changes to identify if a port profile was removed or modified on the affected switch ports.
2. Verify Port Profiles:
   • Go to Site-wide > Configure > Switches > Port profiles.
   • Confirm if the specific port profile containing the required VLAN/PVID configurations is still active and correctly defined.
3. Reapply Port Configurations:
   • Navigate to the affected switches and select the ports that lost their configuration.
   • Re-associate the correct port profile to these ports instead of leaving them set to "None".

Note: Port profiles dictate the VLAN and PVID settings of a port. If the port profile is changed to "None", the associated VLAN configurations from that profile will be removed from those ports.

If the configuration does not restore automatically, please check the switch synchronization status in Nebula to ensure that the cloud configuration has successfully deployed to the local device.
