How to Deregister a Device from an Inaccessible Nebula Organization
Zyxel Employee
When a Zyxel device is registered to an old or inaccessible Nebula cloud organization, it must be released before it can be added to a new network. This guide outlines the steps to resolve this using self-service options or official support.
Self-Service Override
If you have physical access to the device and its label is intact, you can attempt to override the previous registration yourself using these steps:
- Set up the Nebula Mobile App: Download and log into the Nebula Mobile App on your smartphone.
- Register via QR Code: Create or select your new organization and site, then scan the QR code on the physical device's sticker. This action will override the old registration and register the device to your new account.
Support Verification Process
If the self-service registration fails, Zyxel's technical support team can manually verify and remove the old registration from the backend database. This manual force-deregistration is handled securely to protect device ownership.
Ticket Requirements
To request a backend release, you must submit a support ticket containing the product model, serial number (S/N), MAC address, and a valid proof of purchase (such as an invoice, receipt, or a photo of the device label showing the MAC and S/N),and a screenshot or video showing the failed QR code registration attempt using the Nebula Mobile App.. This documentation is strictly required to verify ownership before the technical support team can manually release the device.
