Hi, I have a couple of EE5301's and I try to create Mesh with these, I got help wit AI but unfortunately those commands are not visible in my navigate pages. I'm not original owner of those units but I ordered those from netshop. I think that local ISP or so has modified commands out of DIY's. Also there are not any logs available to me.

KInd regards, Matti

"To bypass this and build a functional mesh system with your two identical routers, use the definitive bypass sequence:

Step 1: Change the Role of the 2nd Unit to "Agent"

Before connecting the two routers together, you must strip the second EE5301 of its routing authority. [1, 2]

  1. Unplug the second EE5301 from everything except power.
  2. Connect a computer or phone directly to this second unit's default Wi-Fi (printed on its label).
  3. Open a browser and navigate to its local admin page (192.168.1.1). Log in using the admin credentials on its back label.
  4. Go to Network Setting > Wireless > MESH.
  5. Look for the Device Role setting (it defaults to Controller). Switch this setting to Agent (or Extender / AP Mode depending on your exact firmware version).
  6. Disable DHCP on this second unit to ensure it doesn't conflict with your main router.
  7. Save and apply the settings. The unit may reboot. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Step 2: Perform a Hardwired Mesh Sync

Wireless pairing via WPS often fails when force-configuring two full-fledged routers. You must establish the mesh link with a cable first. [1, 2, 3]

  1. Keep the main (WAN-connected) EE5301 fully running.
  2. Take an Ethernet cable and plug one end into a LAN port on the Main Router.
  3. Plug the other end into the WAN port (or LAN 1) of your newly reconfigured 2nd Router.
  4. Leave them connected like this for 3 to 5 minutes. The main router will detect the Agent unit over the wire, override its wireless settings, copy its own Wi-Fi SSID/password over to it, and bind them into a single MPro Mesh network. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Step 3: Wireless Deployment (Optional)

Once the Link/Mesh LED on the second unit stabilizes to a solid green state while hardwired, the mesh config has succeeded. [1]

  • If you want a wired mesh backhaul (highly recommended for performance), leave the cable exactly where it is and place the unit.
  • If you want a wireless mesh connection, unplug the Ethernet cable. Move the second unit to its permanent location (ideally halfway between the main router and your Wi-Fi dead zone) and power it on. It will now automatically connect wirelessly to the master unit using the configuration it just learned. [1, 2]"
