Can USG310 resolve local server's name?

I'd like to resolve local server's name. I'm using hosts file. Does USG310 have this function?

Hi SandB just a thought, if you cannot get a response from a host lookup for "landisk" for example instead of the FQDN hostname of landisk.bbb.cc ??

have you configured your local you domain name in the router? You can see this in the router by: show fqdn command or Web UI /Configuration/ System/ Host Name /Gen Setting ...

Router> show fqdn
host name : acr-usg60-03
domain name: floor4.lab4
FQDN   : acr-usg60-03.floor4.lab4

Suggest to test our properly , use another vanilla host on your LAN to try the DNS search or comment out the additions to your current host's /etc/hosts or its equivalent.

While you're there at the host or at the router check the reverse DNS as well.

Go to configuration>System>DNS>create the profile on Address/PTR Record> Fill FQDN with IP address

For example, my hosts file is the following.

landisk 192.168.x.x

This landisk is not public. I can access landisk without IP in my LAN.

I enter "landisk" as FQDN and "192.168.x.x" as IP Address.

I cannot access landisk.

Please tell me how to setup my USG.
