USG Flex new firmware 5.00 is out

I have updated one USG Flex 500 from 4.62 to 5.00 with no apparent issues. There are around 100 enhancements & bug fixes.

Please note that you will have new license trials added to your account including Collaborative Detection & Response (which will give you an expired nag message) and Secure WiFi. DNS Context filter is mentioned in the release notes.

It also includes 3 vulnerability fixes.

There are a lot of nice features, but it will take a while to digest.

    Hi

    Major SW releases are very often subject to special attention and thorough testing (both new features and regression). This to avoid any unforeseen issues and better assess the risks such new SW can bring along.

    Given that budgets for small companies are often limited, investments into a dedicated test environment are limited and therefore, I was wondering, if Zyxel has already been investigating the possibility of testing their SW in public cloud such AWS, Azure or GCP. 
    I'm not talking about a demo instance in the could, but rather a dedicated instance in which the SW could be configured and tested individually, against a fee.

    An alternative would be to get test equipment at a lower price (incl. same SW features and licenses) than the unit in production environment. 

    What are the forum's and Zyxel's thoughts? How do you perform your testing?

    Patch ABUJ.1 released.  No clear concise description of changes that I could detect.  applied without issue.

    Edit: Thanks to moderators, the ABUJ.1 bug fix is: Configure firewall rule bind with APP patrol profile will not work completely.

    Yes on the current release, the connection capability between AWS and Azure was tested. 

    Regarding to GCP connection capability, since Zyxel VPN application implemented the standard VPN for the connection, it should be working as well if GCP is following the standard as well.

    Thank you for your reply.  This PDF file exactly matches the release notes PDF included in the ABUJ.1 download which really just matches ABUJ.0 release notes PDF.  Perhaps the real reason for this patch is being kept quiet at this time is for legal/customer security reasons.  Hopefully Zyxel's great tradition of keeping customers fully informed will occur at the appropriate time.
