VPN300 V5.10(ABFC.0)

Bridge WAN and DMZ

WAN ge1 set for 9600Kb

DMZ ge8 51200Kb

(Small note set the limits before making the bridge)

--------------------------

only one BWM rule

incoming DMZ

outgoing WAN

destination Videos like *googlevideo.com for Youtube

Guaranteed Bandwidth

inbound 40960Kb priority 1

Maximize Bandwidth Usage checked

outbound 3200Kb priority 1

Maximize Bandwidth Usage checked

------------------------------

Running ping to my ISP WAN gateway

As you watch a video like

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnLdOcDNTe0&t=3168s

The stream busts to 51200Kb causing a ping spike for a low running ping at default priority this should not happen. The 40960Kb is Guaranteed but the use of Maximize Bandwidth Usage between 40960Kb to 51200Kb should be low priority shared for other traffic. As it is Maximize Bandwidth Usage is acting like a Guaranteed to 51200Kb instead of upto 40960Kb.

    Hi @PeterUK,
In BWM rule priority number, the smaller the number, the higher the priority.
Please help to test if it is better when the priority is 7.

Yes thats what I have done priority 7 for inbound but I feel it can be better if after Guaranteed 40960Kb that Maximize Bandwidth Usage is to use the default priority this would allow high priority rules not be greedy causing ping spike of 200ms at just one ping a second.

    Thanks
