AntiSpam explanation
Hello,
can someone please explain me if AntiSpam works, if we have an external mail server, exapmle : mail.company.com and we send emails using smtp.company.com and receive pop3/imap.company.com ...
I can't understand how it can work if I don't enter mail server addresses anywhere on Zyxel ... Zyxel selects what it needs from the packets ? ...
Thank you ! Vaclav

Hello @kyssling,Zyxel AntiSpam filters SMTP and POP3 packets when clients send email to external mail server and clients receive email from external mail server.Thank you.James.0

Hi @kyssling,Zyxel anti-spam feature only checks STMP (TCP port 25) and POP3 (TCP port 110) e-mails, does not check e-mails that use other protocols(such as IMAP) or other port numbers.Thank you.James.0

One more little question :
Does AntiSpam work even if the connection between the PC and the mailserver is encrypted?

Hello @kyssling,Since SMTP and POP3 are unencrypted transmission in the process of connection with the server, Zyxel AntiSpam could detect/filter the packets. That is Zyxel AntiSpam does not support detect/filter encrypted transmission such as TLS packets.Thank you.James.0

Very thanks for answer ! So if the transmission is unencrypted, does it work under IMAP too ?
