Centurylink GS1200 VLAN 201 - Double NAT Resolution

Hello,

I'm looking to set up my GS1200 with VLAN 201 for Centurylink because I'm currently double NATing and I would like to get rid of my Centurylink router. My new router unfortunately doesn't have 802.1Q (VLANs) so I bought the GS1200 to do the VLANs for me. The vlan required is vlan 201. Since the Google router doesnt do VLANs I would push/pop tags i.e push a tag on egress and pop the 201 tag off on ingress.

I've set my switch to vlan 201 on all ports except port 5. I left that for the native vlan (1). On port 1 I set the egress tag to 201 (orange) and on ports 2-4 I've set for untagged (green).

Is this the correct configuration?

    Your configuration seems correct. However, to provide more accurate assistance, we need to know which switch port your Google router is connected to.

    Based on your description, we assume that your CenturyLink router is connected to switch Port 1. If that's the case, then for your Google router, please connect it to one of the switch Port 2, 3, or 4.

    Since your Google Router doesn’t support 802.1Q VLANs, the switch port for your Google Router should have the following VLAN configuration:

    • PVID = 201
    • VLAN 201 untag egress member

    Yes, that is correct, I would be using port 2-4 for the google router, however I do plan to use port 2 in this case. I appreciate your response and look forward to finally ditching my Centurylink router!
