XS1930-10 - High Fan Speed
Hello everybody,
we have recieved a couple Zyxel XS1930-10 Switches and all of them are running at really high fan speed without any SFP+ modules and only one RJ45 cable connected without any load on it.
We found this article and installed the firmware "4.60 (ABQE.6)20210726", afterwards the fan speed keeps running at 3700RPM like before.
https://support.zyxel.eu/hc/en-us/articles/4404645697938-XS1930-10-has-a-pulsating-fan-noise
We also found this post where collegues of Zyxel told, that the issue should be resolved with a newer firmware version - in 2022.
So we downloaded and tested the newest firmware "4.80(ABQF.3)C0" but it dosen't helped either.
So can you tell us if its normal that the fan in the XS1930-10 switches are running at this high rpm even without any load or high environmental temperatures around them? If yes, we cant use these kind of switches in our offices and have to return them.
Thanks a lot in advance for your reply.
Best regards
Alex

Hi @wampeee ,
Hello,
For the XS1930-10 switch, the normal fan speed ranges from 3600 to 9000 RPM.
Could you please let us know if you have encountered any abnormal symptoms, such as excessive noise or other issues, when the fan speed is at 3700 RPM?
