Zyxel USG 200 Bandwith limitation
Hi, I recently switched to a better internet connection, from 20Mb down/3Mb up to a 400Mb/150Mb. My problem is that if I use the ISP router bypassing my Zyxel USG 200 I get in my speedtests 400Mb/150Mb, but if i try using my Zyxel as normal I get 110Mb/15Mb. Does someone know if there is some sort of limitation? Or anyone had ever had the same problem?
Thanks

Hi @Monald ,
Could you share with us details about your two scenarios: "the ISP router bypassing my Zyxel USG 200" and "using my Zyxel as normal" regarding:
- The topology - how did you connect the devices?
- The test method - which tools did you use, how did you conduct the tests, and could you share screenshots of the test results?
- Have you enabled any Security services on the USG FLEX 200?

Hi,
Scenario 1: LAN1 of my ISP router is connected with WAN1 of my Zyxel and port 3 (LAN2) of my Zyxel is connected to a switch.
Scenario 2: LAN1 of my ISP router is connected directly to the switch without using the Zyxel.
I've used ookla speedtest for my tests. At the Moment I don't have any screenshot, but I remember the results:
In scenario 1: I have 110Mb down and 17/20Mb up
In scenario 2: I have 350/400Mb down / 100/150Mb up.
I didn't have set any security services (as I know), because I didn't set up the first time, but I've searched everywhere. The last thing that I can try is formatting it.
Thanks

This is the old USG 200 not FLEX 200? so likely hardware limit but its odd your upload speed is slow…
Can you try double NAT with your ISP router.

Sorry, but what do you mean with "Double NAT with your ISP router"?

Hi @Monald
Your Zywall USG200 has 1Gbit/s ports on the WAN side. SPI Firewall Throughput is 250Mbit/s and UTM Throughput is 40Mbit/s.
In order to make use of the full speed you would need at least a new USG Flex 100 or a USG Flex 200.
I use a USG Flex 200 on a 2.5Gbit/s connection and I get a max download of 850 t0 900Mbit/s. I wasn't asked if I wanted the 2.5Gbit/s I was updated from a 600Mbit/s plan. But their lower plan doesn't offer what I am looking for. So I am stuck, as you are, with a connection faster then what my appliance can handle. My Lan is 1Gbit/s so I don't have the need to upgrade the USG Flex 200.

Maybe your doing it without knowing? if you USG WAN interfaces gets a IP 192.168.xxx.xxx then your Double NAT, if you get a IP on the interface like shown on whats my IP then your not Double NAT which is best. Just wanted to see if Double NAT made a difference which it shouldn't.
But as your on old USG 200 thats likely the reason why you can't go faster even with 1Gb ports

Hi,
Yes I get the IP from my ISP router. I've also put the ISP router in DMZ state. So I'll need to buy a newer router. What do you suggets?

I would think the FLEX100/200 H would do
