WiFi setting for special area

Hello guys!

First, I'd like to take this opportunity to say hello to everyone; this is my first message in this community.

I've purchased a Zyxel WiFi 6 AX1800 access point. The idea is to broadcast a network on the pitch of football stadiums. It's placed between the team benches, and two tablets located on the benches will connect to it, roughly within a range of 10 to 30 meters.

The required connection speed is no more than 20 Mbps.

The system works normally, but as the start of the match approaches, the connection begins to fail. Checking the connection from the tablets to the access point with ping, the response times start to fluctuate, reaching values of up to 500 ms, whereas two hours before the match, it's stable at around 20 ms.

I understand that this is all due to interference from other services.
Do you know what configuration options I can adjust?

I've already tried changing channels and power, and I've also tried both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Any ideas to try?

Hi @Jose_Burgueno ,

Please go to Configuration > Object > AP Profile > Radio, choose the radio profile you are using and configure as below:

Set Channel Width to 20 MHz: In high-interference environments like a stadium, reducing the channel width from 40/80 MHz to 20 MHz on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands significantly improves stability.
Adjust the 2.4G output power less than 5GHz's 5dBm at least. This is used to let the station hear 5G first. Since the station will try to roam if the signal gap is over 5dBm.
Enable Signal Threshold with value about -70dBm (or signal of your tablets) that allows only Wi-Fi clients with strong signals to connect to the AP.
Enable Allow 802.11n/ac/ax station only: This rejects 802.11a/b/g clients, ensures that slow management frames do not consume the available bandwidth.

Hi @Jose_Burgueno ,

Before testing, please ensure that both tablets have a signal strength better than -70 dBm and that your access point is configured as mentioned above.

If the connection begins to fail as the match starts, please download the diagnostic file and provide us with the MAC addresses and connection timestamps of both tablets.
