[USG Flex H] - Check PoE Information

Options

Hello,

I would like to see information about the PoE Status (PoE Power, PoE Current, PoE Class) etc etc but into the configuration, seems that those information are not present

How I can show the PoE Information and status?

    Hi @Maverick87 ,

You can check the current PoE status via the CLI interface on your USG FLEX H series device by running the following command:
    #usgflex500h> show state poe port p{X}

X = 3 or 4, the port currently supplying PoE

If there are specific PoE status details you would like to see in Nebula or the local Web GUI, please provide a detailed list (including the specific metrics you meant by "etc etc"). I will be glad to submit this feature request on your behalf. Thank you!

    Hi @Zyxel_Luna,

    Thank you so much

If the PoE status support only the things that you've sent, probably the most important are:

    • pd-enable (already present)
    • State (already present if I'm not wrong)
    • Mode
    • Class
    • Power
    • Current

There are also a request to export all metrics (so also temperature) via SMTP.

    Thank you

    Hi @Maverick87 ,

    Regarding your note:

"There are also a request to export all metrics (so also temperature) via SMTP."

Could you please help clarify this requirement a bit further?

Are you referring to the earlier feature request about retrieving PoE port information via SNMP?

Or do you have a new use case specifically for receiving metrics/reports via SMTP (Email)?

If it is a new requirement for SMTP, could you share more details about your expected behavior?

    Thank you!

    Hi Luna,

we have already opened an Idea:

Just to implement via SNMP the PoE-MIB including also the possibility to reset/powering off-on the port, with the "write" access.

These infos on the GUI is necessary, as my opinion, also because the Maximum PoE power is 30W between the two ports.

Know the current power, it can let us know if we're at the limit, or how far we're from there, before the PoE ports shut down and cause problems.
OK, you can check via CLI, but having a GUI check would be better.
