I am trying to connect XS1930-12HP to Mikrotik RB5009 using SFP+ via a DAC 10GB cable. I also tried 10GB fiber optic cable and saw the same issue. But the connection goes up and down.

The system log looks like:

    Hi @pw123
you are not alone in reporting this issue.
You could try to change the port negotiation speed from auto to fix 10 GBe. I'm afraid it's not the definitive solution, but in my case it has greatly reduced the issue.

    Thanks.

Fixed 10GBe full duplex does not work for me. But fixed 1GBe full duplex does solve the issue. I just wonder why. And it is not a desirable solution since the speed is much slower.

    Hi @pw123,

    Welcome to Zyxel community!

Based on the description, may I know if you had tried changed the media type to "DAC 10G" in the Basic setting > Port setup and verify if the port link up/down issue is resolved?

If the problem still exists, may I know if your DAC cable does support DDMI?
If yes, access XS1930-12HP via web GUI, go to Management > Maintenance and download the "Tech-support" file. So I could check the transceiver information.

Reminder: Please send the tech-support file to me by PM, as there's some private information.

If the DAC doesn't support DDMI, may I know if you have a Zyxel 10G transceiver for testing?
It will help to verify if the problem is related to incompatibility between the DAC and XS1930.

In addition, may I know the specific length of your DAC cable?

    Thanks
    Jonas

    Hi Jonas,

I tried dac10g mode and it does not work.

The DAC cable does not have DDMI. The DAC cable is 0.5m.

I don't have a Zyxel 10G transceiver. I purchased this DAC cable: https://www.optcore.net/product/dac10g-1m-zyx/ and will test it once I get it.

On the other hand, I also tried a optic fiber cable with two 10GB optic SFP+ transceiver, which have DDMI information. It does not work either.

I will PM you the support files for my two tests.

    Thanks for helping.

I just tried Mikrotik XS+DA0001 Direct Attach Cable and had no luck. xs1930 side still had sfp+ up and down.

It seems that it might be related EEE feature on mikrotik rb5009. Does xs1930's SFP+ support EEE?

A similar issue happened on netgear MS510* switches and the diagnosis result is at: https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=185107. Basically because MS510* do not support EEE.
