PoE issue at GS1900-24HPv1 - Firmware 2.70(AAHM.1)C0
Recently upgrade to firmware 2.70(AAHM.1)C0 on all of our GS1900-24HP switches and all are dropping POE power for no reason and log does not contain any errors. Tried to do a tech support download but switch just rebooted and POE power came back. Any one else have issue with this firmware? For now I have rolled back to V2.50(AAHM.0).

Hi @tmcdanel,
Welcome to Zyxel Community!
In order to clarify your issue, there are some questions:
1. May I know how many GS1900-24HP you have?
2. You meantion that all of your GS1900-24HP switches have dropping PoE power on V2.70(AAHM.1)C0, did they happen at the same time?
3. How many PD connect to each switch approximately?

1. May I know how many GS1900-24HP you have?Currently 3 installed and 1 spare.2. You meantion that all of your GS1900-24HP switches have dropping PoE power on V2.70(AAHM.1)C0, did they happen at the same time?No not at the same time, core GS1900 has dropped 3 times and the other 2 each dropped once a day apart from each other.3. How many PD connect to each switch approximately? Each has about 12 POE devices, the heaviest load GS1900 is running at about 45% POE load.0

Hi @tmcdanel,
Thanks for your reply.
I would like to inquire more questions:
1. Did you direclty upgrade your GS1900-24HP switch from V2.50(AAHM.0) to V2.70(AAHM.1)?
2. Could you please PM your switch configuration to me? So I can try to use your configuration for replicating issue.
3. Would you mind to upgrade to V2.60(AAHM.4) to see if the previous firmware before V2.70(AAHM.1) working properly on your switch since V2.50(AAHM.0) is kinda old version.Adam0 -
I would like to inquire more questions:
1. Did you direclty upgrade your GS1900-24HP switch from V2.50(AAHM.0) to V2.70(AAHM.1)?
Yes, directly from 2.50 to 2.70.
2. Could you please PM your switch configuration to me? So I can try to use your configuration for replicating issue.
See PM that has been posted.
3. Would you mind to upgrade to V2.60(AAHM.4) to see if the previous firmware before V2.70(AAHM.1) working properly on your switch since V2.50(AAHM.0) is kinda old version.
Per PM comments please provide download location and I can see what happens.

I would like to add that I'm experiencing the same issue. It used to happen repeatedly with the first edition of the 2.70 firmware. I downgraded to 2.60, the issue never occurred again. Later, I upgraded to the new version of the 2.70 firmware, which worked for some time. Until now.
PoE stops working, connected phones are trapped in a restart loop. Non-PoE clients continue to work. My configuration is pretty much out of the box vanilla. I'm hoping for a more permanent fix...0 -
Hi @PeterHase,
Thanks for sharing.
Some questions for you:
1. Is your switch GS1900-24HPv1? (FW version "AAHM" is v1)
2. May I know which V2.60 version you downgraded to? Is it latest patch?
3. Could you please also share your configuration via PM to me?
4. May I know how many "Consumed Power" is using on your switch?
5. How many PDs connect to your switch approximately?

tmcdanelPeterHase,
Thanks you guys report this issue to us.
Just share to you that I am trying to replicate this issue on my site.
It's running almost 3 days but PoE is still functioning properly.
Therefore,
@tmcdanel
Please also help us to check if V2.60(AAHM.4) working properly for you while your are available.
And provide us the "Consumed Power" from the switch that dropped PoE 3 times a day.
@PeterHase,
Please help to offer the answer to my questions.
After these, I will collect all information and report to our engineer.
Thanks for all your cooperation and effort.Adam0 -
Thank you, Adam, for getting back to me. Regarding your questions:
1. Yes, it is version 1.
2. I downgraded to V2.60(AAHM.4) | 05/24/2021 before going to my current V2.70(AAHM.1) | 01/11/2022
4. If I sum up all clients under Maintenance > Port > PoE > Port, I get 18500mW. Very low power use.
5. I only have 5 powered devices on the switch.0 -
PeterHase,
Thanks for your reply.
Would you mind to download switch tech support file, which is at Maintenance > Configuration > Tech Support, and PM to me?
If it is possiable, please help us to collect two tech support, one is normalm, another one is when issue happen.
I would like to also ask the PoE issue in detail that except the IP phone was in a restart loop, all other PDs were disconnected, right?
It looks like your PoE issue has two different symptoms
1. PDs disconnected
2. IP phone in a restart loop
Please inform us which port your IP phone connect to, so we could find related information from tech support.
Please correct me if there is any misunderstanding, thanks.Adam0
