Hi there,

We are running a bunch of Zyxel USG40w and we have our standard configuration file for them.

We have to deploy new Zyxel devices at a very far remote location where they can only get USG60w devices.

Would it be possible to apply the 40w config file on those devices ?

Thanks for your valuable inputs.

AFAIK, not "out of the box".
Not only the device must be updated to latest firmware (strongly suggest to use 4.72WK28) but also... the interface count is quite different, even if device are the same "generation".
As default USG60W has two WANs, USG40w has an optional interface that can act as WAN2.

IMVHO Zyxel could suggest you how to partially reuse the USG40w config into a semi-definitive one, but at least a review for all the settings must be done on USG60w before testing it "on site" as working device.

The hardware of USG40W and USG60W are different and we have no converter to transform USG40W's configuration file to USG60W.
If you'd like to convert USG40W's configuration file to USG60W, you can follow this guide to edit the USG40S's file and upload it to USG60S.
