There are several configuration features on Zyxel security appliances that require some protection. In ZLD5.35, the Zyxel firewalls are built with security in mind, by adding an extra layer of password protection when the administrators want to access the configuration files.

How to enable Configuration Files Protection? 

By default, you can download the firewall configuration file without a password. You can now add a password for additional protection.

Step 1: Visit GUI page: Maintenance > File Manager > Configuration file > Select the file and click “Download”

Step 2: Check “Encryption” and set your password with a maximum of 31 single-byte printable characters.

Step 3: Once completed, the administrators will be asked to enter the password when they open the files.
