Recommendation to keep GS1900 operating on V2.70 firmware

Zyxel recommends GS1900 switches with the serial number of S21XXXXXXXXXX (or later) to operate on V2.70 firmware (minimum) for compatibility issues across multiple hardware revisions. Attempting to operate with prior firmware will encounter system failure in powering up powered devices. The first step of recovery is to upgrade to V2.70 firmware to check if the switch returns to normal operation to power up connected powered devices.
If your switch can only forward traffic without performing PoE operation after returning to V2.70 firmware, please contact your local support for RMA process. For European residents, please visit this link:

Might be useful to keep a copy of the firmware available and specified for this kind of issue.0

Hi @mMontana,
Thanks for the advice.
However, the issue is that the new GS1900 is using 2.70 firmware when it's manufacturing, and the issue occurs after the user trying downgrade to 2.60 firmware.
If any user purchases a new GS1900 and wants to upgrade firmware, please upgrade to 2.70 firmware or above.'

Why not in the download page of the product?
I mean… Now i know after more than two years that into zyxel Forum/community/marketing site i can find some useful resources. But as newbye Zyxel buyer (end user or technician) I'm not sure I'd look for resources outside the “download section” of the official site.
Once there was FTP site, but Zyxel slayed it…

The FTP Site was great… I second that!
