Compatibility between Zyxel VMG8623-T50B and Tp-link Range extender RE315?

I have just installed a Zyxel VMG8623-T50B modem router and most of my devices are connected and working. I have connected 2 TP-link RE315 Range extenders but their range is very limited and the Zyxel is not listed amongst Tp-link's devices suitable for building a Mesh network. Can I extend their range without building a Mesh network please?

Tp-link RE315 looks like is a MESH extender device.

I think it is not possible to build a network of Zyxel and Tp-link devices.
