Hi,

I have a Zyxel Modem from T-Mobile (a Dutch company) and it's brand new, but it wont get me to the login portal. If I connect to http://192.168.0.1 it shows for a second and then redirects me to https://192.168.0.1 and refuses the connection. I tried a factory reset but no luck, SSH, TelNet, Disabling HTTPS Redirects, different browser, FTP, but still no luck.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks,

Rinus

    Hi everyone,

I managed to fix it! T-Mobile has (for the business users) a portal were you can manage your settings. However, you cannot change all settings. So I found a workaround.

    1. Download Google Chrome (Other browsers with strict policies, didn't seem to be working)
    2. Go to your routers IP. In my case it is http://192.168.0.1. (IMPORTANT: Use HTTP)
    3. When you are on the Connection Refused page, hold the back arrow. (IMPORTANT: Don't click it, hold it.)
    4. Select the option that says "Welcome to the web base configurator". (The previous page)

That fixes it in my case. If it doesn't for you, you can continue this tread.

Could you share with us the Zyxel Modem's model name?

    hi there

I think T-Mobile force the device to use HTTPS for better security.

When you were redirected to the HTTPS, can you process the connection via HTTPS?

If you can, I think it is the design.

    Hi,

    The model name is DX5401-B0.

I can't process the connection via HTTPS cause it says: "192.168.0.1 refused the connection."

Have you tried to access to your DX5401-B0 by the IP as 192.168.1.1 after having factory reset?

Hi Rinus, I have the same issue, also T-mobile business account and unable to use the Zyxel web interface. It shows the login, but after a second it redirects to https and refuses to connect. Did you manage to solve it?

    No unfortunately not,

One trick that didn't work for me, but maybe will for you is making lag on your computer and than going to the url and when you see the login click (in chrome) the cross that stops connecting. You can now login.

    Hopefully this works for you.

Wow, great! Thanks! I have the same problem with the DX5401-B1 provided by T-Mobile for their business users. Connecting to the default 192.168.0.1 redirects to HTTPS, but going back to HTTP it indeed provides the login page and the password is the default one provided for the router.

Great, now I can set it up without going through the portal of the ISP (which limits the settings to basically nothing: wifi name/password and enabling/disabling DHCP, not even guest wifi network, etc.).

Hjacking this aswell, as this is the only DX5401-B1 thread.

I can login (http) and then after a short while, the connection gets timed out, and i cannot do anything anymore.

Problem seems in WIFI, when on LAN it works.
It also seems transferring to https?
Connecting to http:// works, but is unsafe?

So why not let it connect to https://

Getting a bit anoying when you want to adjust the router settings

    Router model: DX5401-B1

    Firmware: V5.17(ABZC.0)T54C_b21_1129_2

    Provider: T-Mobile (Odido)
