IGMP snooping is a feature that allows a switch to passively monitor IGMP packets exchanged between multicast routers/switches and clients to learn multicast group membership. It is essential for hospitality services to provide real-time transmission of IP-based video streaming and multimedia applications, such as IPTV and digital signage.
