Problems with port forwarding

Options

I am new to zyxel switches and have just installed a Zyxel GS1900-24HP to manage 8 network cameras from Dlink. The network cameras are connected with Poe. The local network is built on TP-Link Mesh nodes. In the main node, nat rules are set up to forward external traffic from the Internet to the cameras behind the Zyxel switch.

When tested, the cameras are accessible on the local network, but not from the Internet. I have also set up a VPN server in TP-Link to test if the cameras are accessible through it. Even connected via VPN, you cannot access the cameras. Through the VPN, the client receives an IP address of 10.0.0.x and the cameras are located on local network 192.168.0.x.

Is there something that needs to be changed in the Switch from a basic installation so that the cameras are accessible outside their local network based on the above description?

    Hi @jensaltb,

From your description, your cameras seem like in the same subnet as the GS1900 and your TP-Link device. So, you don't need to change the configuration of your switch.

You also mentioned that the cameras are not accessible via VPN or the Internet, this is more likely a routing problem. You might need to check your camera's IP and default gateway setting.
