How can I identify the VAP and LAN port address?

On the AP label sticker, only one MAC address is provided. So, how can one determine the MAC addresses for the LAN port and VAP?

Let's consider a general example:

Suppose the AP hardware MAC address is AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA and it has 2 LAN ports.

For LAN ports:

• The MAC for LAN1 port would be AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AB
• The MAC for LAN2 port would be AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AC

For the VAPs:

• The MAC for VAP1 (radio 1 - 2.4GHz, wlan-1-1) is AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AD
• The MAC for VAP2 (radio 2 - 5GHz, wlan-1-2) is AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AE

Suppose the AP hardware MAC address is AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA and it has no LAN ports.

For the VAPs:

• The MAC for VAP1 would be AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AB
• The MAC for VAP2 would be AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AC

This follows the rule base on the hardware MAC address and in the hexadecimal system:

• If there are LAN ports, each subsequent port's MAC address increments by 1. After the LAN ports, the VAP MAC addresses follow.
• If there are no LAN ports, the VAP1 MAC address increments by 1, followed by VAP2, and so on.

Additionally:

• VAP1 also is BSSID for the first SSID of radio1 2.4GHz and VAP2 is the BSSID for the first SSID of radio2 5GHz.

For instance:

• For the WAC500H model, there are 2 LAN ports.

For the NWA55AXE model, there are no LAN ports.
