Nebula supports several features to optimize roaming for connected devices.
They can be found at Configure > Access points > SSID advanced settings > Advanced settings section:
- Assisted roaming (IEEE 802.11k/v):
Assisted Roaming in Nebula networks, enabled by IEEE 802.11k/v standards.- When the connected clients request 802.11k neighbor lists, the AP will provide with a list of neighbor Nebula APs for potential roaming.
- When the 802.11v capable clients are using the 2.4 GHz band, the AP can send 802.11v messages to steer clients to the 5 GHz band.
- 802.11r (Fast Basic Service Set Transition):
It facilitates faster transitions between Nebula APs in a network by sharing security keys across them, reducing the time for re-authentication when clients roam from one AP to another.
