Hello,

I just got a GS1200-8 Switch which came with Firmware V2.00(ABME.2)C0

So I wanted to upgrade to the newest 2.00(ABME.3)C0

But this always fails and I get the message that I should just repeat it.

I had to downgrade to the .2 Firmware again to get a working device.

What did I do wrong?

    Ok it worked now.

Both tries were with the webinterface.

    Things I mainly changed:

Changed IP and added my router as a gateway

Changed device name to something custom

Switched from my main Firefox to a Chromium without any custom addons

    Hi @Felix87

I attempted to upgrade the firmware on my site using the specified device and web browsers. However, I did not encounter the same issue; all firmware upgrades from V2.00(ABME.2)C0 to V2.00(ABME.3)C0 were successful.

    In my test environment:

    • Network Topology: PC ↔ Switch
    • PC’s OS version: Windows 10 Pro
    • Firmware file name: 200ABME3C0.bin
    • Browsers:
      • Google Chrome: Version 120.0.6099.201 (Official Build) (64-bit)
      • Microsoft Edge: Version 120.0.2210.121 (Official build) (64-bit)
      • Firefox: Version 121.0.1 (64-bit)

Given that we were unable to replicate a similar issue on our site, we would appreciate further details about your situation. Additionally, please note that in the current design, if the firmware upload is not complete within 30 seconds, the device will remain on the upload page until the next successful upload. This is implemented to prevent any abnormal events during the upgrade that could lead to a device boot-up failure.

Could you please provide the following information?

    1. Share with us the method you employed to upgrade the switch firmware. If the upgrade was conducted through a web browser, kindly specify the browser and its version used for the firmware upgrade.
    2. If possible, provide details about your network topology during the upgrade process.
    3. Capture screenshots of any error messages encountered during the failed upgrade for our review.

Moreover, please check the upload speed or connection quality in your environment, as delays beyond 30 seconds could be related to these factors.
