To prevent loop events, especially in ring topologies, configuring Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) between switches is recommended. RSTP effectively identifies and eliminates network loops by creating a loop-free tree structure of connections.

In addition, Loop guard is a feature that provides an additional layer of protection against loops. It is particularly useful for ports connecting to end devices or hubs.
