I have recently acquire a raspberry pi and want to make the IP address static.
I logged into my router settings by typing in the devices IP address into Chrome.
In the settings, under home networking, when I try to set the device as static DHCP I get an error message "Warning: Need to disconnect/connect the device or release/renew IP"
I have tried doing what the warning has said , but it does not work for the Raspberry Pi or any device.
Please help.

Hi @Shwoodles
To better understand your situation, could you please provide the model of your Zyxel device? Knowing the specific model will help us tailor our support to your setup.
