If the stacking cable (CH2, representing Orange) between the 2nd and 3rd switches is disconnected in Daisy chain, the switch in the linecard role will not perform any actions, including changing its role or retaining the running configuration. This is the expected behavior for a switch that is not in the Master or Backup role.

The primary purpose of the linecard role in stacking is to extend the total number of available ports.
