Overview

When the fashion and textile company established a new office in Seongsudong, their goal was to create a seamless and convenient wireless network across all office spaces, meeting various user needs while ensuring robust network security. After evaluating wireless network solutions with the expert guidance of Business Plus, the company chose Zyxel Networks’ USG FLEX 100 firewall, GS1920 series smart managed PoE switch, and WAX610D APs to ensure a reliable wireless network. The new network has streamlined network management, allowing staff to easily monitor and manage equipment status.

Challenges

Creating a smooth and dependable wireless network in the new office proved challenging for the fashion and textile company in Seongsu-dong. The company aimed to achieve continuous WiFi coverage across all areas, unaffected by location or network disruptions. However, traditional network setups fell short of meeting the diverse needs of users while ensuring network security.
Addressing this required careful planning and the deployment of suitable network infrastructure.

Solutions

To meet their needs, the company opted for Zyxel Networks’ solution. Firstly, to address cybersecurity requirements, they installed the USG FLEX 100 firewall, ensuring protection against various cyber threats including malware, viruses, and phishing.

The GS1920-8HPv2 PoE switches powered wireless APs, internet phones, and security cameras with up to 30W per port and a total power supply of 375W.
Combo (RJ-45/SFP) ports enabled expandability for long-distance networks, simplifying installation without needing additional power sources or electrical work in AP-installed areas.

To create a stable wireless environment, WAX610D APs were installed, supporting WiFi 6 technology for high-speed data processing of up to 2,975Mbps. Features like dual 4x4+2x2 MIMO and OFDMA technology ensured efficient data transmission and minimized user wait times. The APs were placed in three key locations—the lobby, office, and conference room.

In the lobby, the APs allowed users to stay connected with the same SSID while moving between zones. In the office, the guest mode segregated the network, preventing unauthorized access and enabling customized separation. Additionally, the conference room AP served as a failover, automatically boosting output to ensure uninterrupted WiFi, with an auto-healing feature for seamless connectivity.

All devices were managed via the Nebula cloud platform, allowing remote device status and settings monitoring.
Real-time access to equipment and network status, alongside wireless traffic and usage data, ensured seamless network monitoring. Features like WiFi QoS and push notifications mitigated disruptions, enabling remote troubleshooting and minimizing downtime.

Results

By deploying Zyxel Networks’ solutions, the office now enjoys uninterrupted WiFi coverage with efficient roaming capabilities. The use of enterprise-grade wireless APs ensures high-speed data processing and seamless connectivity for users. The implementation of network separation and guest mode settings enhances security and privacy. Cloud-based management allows for real-time monitoring of equipment status and network performance, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operations. Overall, the office benefits from a reliable and secure wireless network, providing a seamless user experience and enabling efficient remote management.
