Overview

O2 Filmes, a leading film and advertising production company in Latin America,
encountered critical connectivity challenges in its extensive 9,000 m2 São Paulo office. With a high volume of sensitive data, including movie scenes, the demand for a fast, secure, and reliable internet solution was imperative.
Collaborating with Zyxel Networks and the experienced system integrator Pro
Advanced, a robust infrastructure was implemented, featuring over 30 WiFi 6 access points to optimize coverage for more than 1500 simultaneously connected devices. The outcome was a highly stable, secure, and efficient network, eliminating connectivity gaps and enhancing productivity across all levels of O2 Filmes. This collaboration facilitated significant optimization of network coverage and performance, reinforcing security and preparing the infrastructure for future expansions. Today, the O2 Filmes office enjoys an impeccable WiFi experience, where creativity and security seamlessly coexist without interruptions.

Challenges

O2 Filmes needed to maintain consistent internet connectivity throughout the entire office over a vast space. Initially, O2 Filmes faced persistent connectivity issues that had severely impacted operability and efficiency. With numerous users simultaneously connecting to the network and a high demand for data transmission, improving network performance and stability became a priority. 
Despite many attempts to fix long-standing WiFi connectivity issues, they continued to persist. Furthermore, there was an urgent requirement for secure and well-protected network connections. And that’s when the Pro Advanced project with Zyxel Networks’ equipment came into play.

Solutions

O2 Filmes collaborated with Pro Advanced, which specializes in network system  integration and cybersecurity protection, to enhance WiFi connectivity.

During this consultancy, which lasted more than a year, they identified a problem with wireless connectivity, including the number of devices connected wirelessly.
To address these challenges, Pro Advanced chose Zyxel Networks’ equipment that met their needs for performance, safety and expected quality.

Over 30 WiFi 6 access points and two GS2220-28HP L2+ managed PoE switches were installed, renowned for their robustness and efficient handling of multiple  simultaneous connections. To ensure network security, the USG FLEX 500 firewall was deployed to strengthen the protection with automatic responses by blocking security threats and restricting risky online behaviors.

Significant performance improvements were observed, with expanded network coverage reaching the entire office space, eliminating any areas without internet access.
Moreover, the network’s capacity to accommodate over 1,500 simultaneous connections marked a notable advancement. Network stability has specifically improved, completely eliminating occasional connectivity outages.
Additionally, data security has been reinforced, protecting critical information, such as confidential scenes from O2 Filmes films.

Results

The new and reliable network has effectively addressed critical connectivity challenges, resulting in notable improvements in staff productivity and operational efficiency.
