So having done resets and now with a certificates if after you do a reset to defaults it wipes outs certificates so if you then apply your backup config the UI will not load so you must after reset load your certificates with the same file name to then load your back.

    Hi @PeterUK

The behavior you're describing depends on the type of reboot/reset you performed on your USG FLEX H firewall.

    • Reboot (press 3 to 5 seconds): Reboots the device with the last saved custom settings, preserving certificates.
    • Soft Reset (press 7 to 14 seconds): Restores the device to default settings.
    • Factory Reset (press over 30 seconds): Resets the device to factory settings, erasing all custom configurations.

Therefore, before applying your backup configuration, check if the certificates are still present on the device. If they’ve been erased, you’ll need to import the certificates first, making sure the file names match, and then proceed with loading your backup config.

    Thanks Kay

Ok but this is different behaviour vs old models where the certificates never gets wiped for factory reset which seems better?

    Hi @PeterUK

Thank you for your feedback! I understand your concern regarding the differences in behaviour regarding certificate retention during a factory reset compared to older models. We appreciate your input on this matter, and I will be turning this into a feature request.
